Optimization and optimal control, dynamic systems, mathematical modeling in economics and ecology
Elena Rovenskaya’s research aims at the theoretical elaboration of new methods for solving optimal control problems (both analytical and numerical), as well as at application of existing methods to solve economic, social and ecological problems.
Since 2006 she has been collaborating with International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, Laxenburg, Austria, the research lies in the sphere of the mathematical modeling in socio-economic-ecological systems.
(i) optimization in forest growth models
(ii) modeling of relative systems risks on agents’ collapses in networks
(iii) development of regional agent-based models of systems "human-environment"
(iv) development and realization of A3 approach to be used for anticipation of unwanted events to occur in complex dynamical systems under uncertainty
